Interactive visuals for a ballet performance
for the launch of Range Rover Evoque.
We designed the visuals to work in 3 layers: A background movie layer which we designed and rendered in advance. An interactive layer that the visual performer would trigger live using a multi-touch pad. And finally, an effects layer allowed the performer to selectively punctuate events on the fly.
For the Launch of the 'Range Rover Evoque', which was designed in conjunction with Victoria Beckham, Land Rover organised an extraordinary party in Beijing, which hosted a series of events, one of these being a ballet performance.

We were asked to design and perform the visuals to complement the ballet. We teamed up with our sister company Nanika to realise this project. Faced with the need for a quick turnaround, minimal time for setup on location and the fact that the length of the performance was only going to be around 10 minutes, we opted for a puppeteer's approach to interactivity. We designed the visuals to work in 3 layers: A background movie layer which we designed and rendered in advance. An interactive layer that the visual performer would trigger live using a multi-touch pad. And finally, an effects layer allowed the performer to selectively punctuate events on the fly. We put all of this into a very flexible system, perfectly suited to the short performance.
